How to Rock the Rain on Your Wedding Day
Weddings in
this half of the year can be so fun, vibrant and—tricky. Yes, tricky. That’s
because from now all the way to the –ber months, the weather’s surely going to
be playing tricks here and there. Days can start off as bright with cloudless
sky in the morning, and finally turn out damp and chilly in the afternoon, even
stormy. Now if you’re a bride, the thought of having rain on your dream
wedding—whether outdoor or indoor—is enough to send shivers down your
spine.
But who says rain
has to spoil your big day? When life gives you rain, dance in it! Let’s bring
on the bright side with these tips that you can roll out of your petticoat as
soon as the clouds come rolling in.
Have a Plan B
It pays to
have foresight, especially on your big day. Check for a 14-day, 7-day and even
3-day weather forecast prior to your wedding and see if you will need to get
some extra preparations ready in case it rains. If your wedding will be held
outdoors, will you have a nearby indoor location that you can move to should it
start to pour? If not, will a tent and flooring (should the ground get soggy
after much rain) be available? Do you have generators on standby in case a
storm comes up and power lines get cut off? These may sound too minor a detail,
but it’s always good to have something to pull out the moment it starts to
drizzle.
Give a Heads
Up
Nobody wants
to be the uninformed guest. So give them a heads up. If weather forecasts
predict for rain (or even strong breezes) on your wedding day, make sure you
let them know so they can prepare. You may request for your guests to wear
extra layers as the rain may turn the weather a little cold. The ladies and
bridesmaids may also avoid wearing chiffon dresses that can ruffle in the wind.
Last but not the least, if you’ll be having an outdoor wedding, be sure to let
your hairstylist know that the weather will be a little breezy. That way, your
hairstylist can prepare a style that will not make you look like a disaster on
your big day.
Hype Up on
the Romance
Rain is
romantic, remember that! And in a great deal of sense, rainy weddings get to celebrate
more fun and style than those that missed the showers. There are a lot of ideas
to make the rain work wonders on your wedding day. For one, you can have your
first (umbrella) dance under the soft drizzle! (This works up so nicely on
camera, trust us! See Katy and Ryan’s wedding.)
And speaking
of good shots, there are so many amazing (even magical) photos that can come up
out of a rainy wedding! What you should do is get good wedding photographers
(and yes, there are many!) and let them do their thing. For sure, your
photographers will know how to help you celebrate the situation and bring out
the rainy romance in your photos. (Looking for great photographers? Hit us a

special day, rain or no rain!)

Soak Up the Showers in Style
Getting
married on a rainy day doesn’t have to mean you’ll have to wash the chic stuff
away—it’s actually a great time to soak up in style! And that goes for you and
your guests as well. Here are some stylishly fresh ideas to get you started:
Keep your
guests cosy with shawls that can
warm them up. And while you’re at it, pick out those in your theme or color!

When the rain
drops come pouring down, pull up those cute motif umbrellas! Choose those of your theme, or color, or even your school
pride! These cute umbrellas can work as nice wedding favors for your guests,
too!

To light up
candles is one thing. But to light up candles
while rain drops dramatically shower softly down the window pane, now that’s
extra points on the romance scale!

As we say,
“When it rains, it glows.” Well, we really never say that, but hey—since the
rain darkens the sky too early, why not rock the moment with some cool glow sticks for you and your guests?
Aside from being fun, these bright stuff can also make your reception entrance
look something like this:

And that’s
just to cite a few! There are a dozen other ways to rock the rain in style, so
get creative!
Embrace the
Rain
Lastly, keep
your mind on the bright side. If you’re too anxious about the less-than-ideal
circumstances on your special day, then just don’t let your guests know about
it. Stressed bride = Stressed wedding. Remember, it’s not the preparations—not
even the weather—that make a wedding day perfect; it’s you and your spouse. The
bride and the groom—their love, smile, and all that—are ultimately what the
guests came to celebrate. So just go out there, embrace the rain, and be
thankful! It may actually be God’s way of blessing your big day in a unique,
unforgettable way.
How about
you—how was your wedding? Got other ideas to celebrate the rain on your special
day? We’d love to hear from you!

If someone lifestyles in the dried up place or has skin that dries out out during the drier periods of the season including winter months in might be important for them to utilize a lotion. Using a cream or lotion helps keep ones skin from unpleasant cracking due to simply being way too dried out. Spithj65ch
